Another beautiful quote from Mother Angelicas’ biography by R. Arroyo:
“God was very fussy about the Temple in Jerusalem. I’m not sure God wants these pre-fab things we just clunk together. I don’t think it’s austere. I think it’s stupid…. If you worship in a church made like a garage, you come out feeling like you’ve been in a garage. We need to see beauty or we don’t know whatbeauty is. Did you ever get inspired by a warehouse?” p.257
Reading up on Mother Angelica’s biography, i found her answer to Bishop Boland quite interesting:
“…she told the bishop she didn’t appreciate inclusive language and asked a rhetorical question: “Was Jesus… conceived of the Holy Spirit and born a human or an individual? You don’t ask a mother if the baby is a human, you ask if it’s a boy or a girl!”
p.237 - Mother Angelica by Raymond Arroyo.
In Arichat since Monday, December 19, 5:45 p.m. local time. Long ride from Lac-Etchemin to here!
Triple joy on this feast of the Immaculate CONCEPTION!
1. Received Raymond Arroyos’ book MOTHER ANGELICA, The Remarkable Story of a Nun, her Nerve and a Network of Miracles. It only took two days for delivery by mail! Usually takes 5 to 7 days for something to cross over to Québec Province!
2. Reminds me of the wishes i received from Mother Angelica who send me a post card signed on the Immaculate Conception about 7 years ago! (the only words we have ever shared).
3. Rex, our German Sherpherd who had been lost out in the woods 7 days ago came back today! 7 days without food, water, sleeping in -17 celsius weather at night!
We had lost him that blizzary Friday afternoon, thinking that he would come back home as he usually did. Went out looking for him but could not see his tracks. We thought he was dead.
He got caught up in a trap (for Coyotes?) in our neighbours property. Our neighbour freed him today. He came back thin as a toothpick but unharmed! Deo Gratias!!!
“I found my nirvana 23 years ago aboard my first ORBIS flight. By treating avoidable blindness, people don’t just get back their sight, they get back their self-esteem and their respect through their ability to act as society expects,” Taylor once said in an interview.
